  1. README for TYPESET.WCM

  3. TYPESET is a WordPerfect for Windows macro that replaces ASCII
  4. single-quotes, double-quotes, apostrophes, and dashes with the
  5. proper characters, as they usually appear in typeset material.
  6.  
  7. This is desirable because the ASCII character provides only
  8. typewriter-style straight-up-and-down quotation marks (rather
  9. than the paired marks used by typesetters), uses the same
  10. character for the apostrophe and the aigue accent, and does not
  11. provide a dash distinct from the hyphen.  WP provides all these
  12. characters in it sextended character sets.  This macro lets you
  13. type your document conveniently with the ASCII marks, and then
  14. convert them to the better-looking typsetter-style marks before
  15. printing.

  17. Use WPWin to view the macro itself (just open it as a
  18. WordPerfect document) for details on exactly what characters
  19. are replaced: in this plain text file, the WP characters from
  20. the WP extended character sets cannot be shown.

  22. To install this macro, just put it in your WPWin macros
  23. directory.  To try it out, just do Macro/Play and pick it by
  24. name from the file list.  For easy use, put it on your Button
  25. Bar, or add it to your Macros menu, or both.
